About Us
Paws Without Borders' mission is to help rescue, rehabilitate, rehome, and care for dogs found on the streets of Mexico. We work primarily with our sister organization, (Paws Without Borders - Mexico, but we also assist other rescues in Mexico).
Paws Without Borders - Mexico runs a shelter for approximately 125 dogs, and growing! They provide a safe and loving place for them to live their lives where they are provided medical care, food, and shelter. Whenever possible, we work to rehome these dogs through our partnerships with rescues throughout the US and Canada.
Fundraising is a key priority for us. Funds we raise are used for:
-
Medical care for dogs currently in the shelter and emergency cases as they arise (for example: blood transfusions, limb amputations, spinal surgeries, parvo treatment, routine medications for tick and valley fever etc.) We often have several special needs dogs in our care, and their needs can be expensive.
-
Medical vetting (parasite and other testing), vaccinations, de-worming, and spay/neuter for adoptable dogs to be brought to the US / Canada for transfer to other rescues/shelters to find their forever homes.
-
Transporting for dogs from Mexico to Tucson and then Tucson to partner rescues (to date we have worked with rescues in Montreal Canada, Oregon, Wisconsin, Texas, and California. We hope to expand these networks as we grow.
-
Providing food, shelter, and other supplies as needed (i.e. leashes, dog bowls, play pools etc.)
-
Spay and neuter clinics in Mexico
